The Pacific Steelers are a high performance female hockey program based out of the Greater Vancouver area.
Our goal is to identify female hockey players who are talented hockey players, and provide these players with an opportunity to grow and develop to their fullest potential by having them train with other similarly skilled and committed players, and expose them to top-notch coaches who have a demonstrated committment to player development.
Our players receive a tremendous amount of exposure to collegiate coaches, as the Steelers program has been recognized by college coaches as one of the top teams in Western Canada.
We have developed
close relationships with the majority of NCAA Division 1 and have been intimately involved in the recruiting process with our players and have developed expertise in the recruiting process. As such,in addition
to our on-ice program, we also provide our players with extensive follow-up consulting services to help guide players through the college recruiting process and provide full college preparation including
academic, financial aid advice/negotiation and counselling.

There are three main components of our program:
1. The Richmond Steelers
-- a club team based in Richmond, B.C. that plays in the South Coat Female Amateur Hockey League at the Senior AAA level in Vancouver and other teams. This is the flag ship team of the the Pacific Steelers program, and is comprised of top players that reside/move to or are willing to travel on a regular basis to the Greater Vancouver area.
Over the past few years, the Richmond Steelers has been the most heavily scouted team in Western Canada attending the Findlay Tournament, Connecticut Polar Bear Tournament and Brampton Canadettes tournaments.
No other club team in Western Canada has placed more players into US colleges in the past five years.
2. The Pacific Steelers Selects - are select teams that are formed to enter scouted spring tournaments and summer tournaments such as the North
American Hockey Academy Tournament, Challenge Cup and SuperSeries.
Such teams are selected on the basis of tryouts, and in the past have been comrpised of current and future Division 1 hockey players. These teams are great opportunities for players who may play on boys teams, or weak club teams, to play on a girls teams with future National team caliber players.
A partial list of players that have participated on our select teams include: Carly Haggard (Canadian U-22 Junior National Team), Dana Pretty (Canadian
U-22 Junior National team), Brooke Whitney (US U-22 Junior National team), Shannon Smith (St. Lawrence University), Amanda Sargeant (St. Lawrence University)
3. Skill Development and Prospects Camps
-- from time to time we also hold skill development and scouted prospects camps to help develop and identify future college players. Colleges that have attended our camps in the past include: Harvard, Maine, Dartmouth, UNH, Niagara, Brown, Northeastern, Yale, Wayne State, Minnesota Twin Cities, Ohio State, Cornell, Wisconsin, St. Cloud State, St. Lawrence University, Princeton, Bemidji, and Providence College.
